My teaching role gives me a great deal of job satisfaction, I firmly believe the reason for this are the many opportunities for self-improvement. The Trinity Laban Teaching Musician course provided a comprehensive study of my own practice and expanded horizons I was previously unaware of.
Alistair studied trumpet at the former Trinity College of Music on a four-year Performance Diploma course, graduating in 1996, and followed this with a one-year Trinity Jazz Scholarship. He returned to Trinity Laban in 2015, to study on postgraduate course The Teaching Musician.
As a professional musician, Alistair has worked with artists including Paul Weller, The Divine Comedy, Glenn Miller UK Orchestra and The Syd Lawrence Orchestra.
During his teaching career, he has worked for Greenwich, Lewisham and Croydon Music Services, before taking up a full-time post on the Senior Leadership Team at Lambeth Music Service. This role includes teaching in small group, individual and class situations, designing courses, arranging music, organising continual professional development activities, overseeing bursaries, and tutor allocation.
