Dance Lecturer, Manager and Practitioner
I chose to study the MSc part time over 2 years, which gave me opportunities to explore dance science in a professional capacity alongside my studies. I was also able to explore the application of dance for the health by working as a dance assistant for Trinity Laban’s Learning and Participation department.Claire Farmer
Claire Farmer graduated with an MSc Dance Science in 2015. She is the Dance Well Project Officer for Akademi and joint Manager of the National Institute of Dance Medicine and Science (NIDMS) at One Dance UK. In 2014 she set up ‘Dance Longer Dance Stronger’ which encourages the sharing of experience and resources between dancers and health professionals about dance injuries. This led to the launch of the Performers Health Hub App in 2016 which provides information on finding specialist treatment and accessing resources. Claire is an Associate Lecturer at Roehampton University on the undergraduate dance programme teaching physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, psychology and its application to dance practice.
