Biography

Elliot Galvin graduated in 2014 after completing a BMus Jazz and MMus Composition, and in 2013 he won the Gold Medal Award. Prior to this, he was a student at Junior Trinity. As a jazz pianist Elliot performs as a soloist, as well as with ensembles like the Chaos Orchestra and the London Soundpainting Orchestra. He composes for his trio The Elliot Galvin Trio and released a critically acclaimed debut album, Dreamland, in 2014. Elliot co-founded the Chaos Collective with Laura Jurd and Corrie Dick. The Chaos Collective Label brings together some of the UK’s most diverse young improvisers and also offers educational programmes for school. The collective won the Musician’s Benevolent Fund’s development award in 2012 and 2014 and Elliot was awarded European Young Jazz Musician of the Year 2014.
