Tue 24 July 2018

Pianist Phillip Leslie joins prestigious scheme that promotes talented young musicians.

Founded in 1956, the Park Lane Group provides a prominent platform for outstanding soloists, ensembles and composers at the start of their careers. Every year, the trust selects a number of gifted young artists to perform at prestigious London venues such as the Wigmore Hall and the Southbank Centre.

This year, Trinity Laban alumnus and pianist Phillip Leslie has been selected as one of the Young Artists. He will perform in a series of engagements during the 2018/19 season, including a concert at the Purcell Room at London’s Southbank Centre in January 2019.

Described as a musician who plays with “vigour and excitement”, Phillip gained both his BMus and MMus degrees at Trinity Laban and was the recipient of the Silver Medal Keyboard Award.

Phillip comments –

“I have been fortunate to study with teachers whom have encouraged thinking outside of the box and playing eclectic repertoire. I am extremely excited to represent the Park Lane Group next season and to perform the fascinating music of Thomas Adès and Pierre Boulez at a major London venue. I am very lucky!”
