Trinity Laban announces new dance awards

Fri 18 December 2020

The six new Principal’s Awards for Excellence will support EU and International talent

Trinity Laban is delighted to announce the introduction of six new awards to support international fee-paying students enrolling on the conservatoire’s BA (Hons) Contemporary Dance in 2021.

The awards are designed to help talented young dancers pursue world-class conservatoire training as part of Trinity Laban’s vibrant community, which has artists from over 60 countries.

The six awards – one totalling £30,000 and five totalling £15,000 over three years – will be awarded on merit. This will be determined by the financial award panel, made up of Director of Dance, Sara Matthews, and other Trinity Laban Faculty of Dance staff, based on performance at audition.

If you are eligible to apply, please complete a UCAS Conservatoires application and submit a recorded audition by the end of February. Please note that applicants enrolling on the BA (Hons) Contemporary Dance with Foundation year are not eligible for these awards.

Director of Dance Sara Matthews comments –

“We want to do everything we can to continue to nurture international and EU students so they can contribute to our wonderful international community and flourish in the performing arts industry. Through the new Principal’s Awards for Excellence, we are proud to be able to offer support to emerging dance talent in what is a particularly challenging time globally, and to help sustain an exciting future for the next generation of dance artists and innovators.”
