Class Descriptions
Tuesday 28 May
Singing for Joy – 10.30-12.30, Nicola Wydenbach
In this session you will learn songs that will make your heart sing! Nicola is a classically trained opera singer and experienced choir leader, she will warm up your voices alongside opera based breathing exercises. You will then learn some songs that make you feel joyful. No singing experience necessary!
Jazz Dance – 13.15-14.45, André Fabien Francis
The session will introduce Modern Dance techniques and explore combinations that move across the space. In addition to this, you will learn dance repertoire inspired by, André’s career, which includes The Lion King, Wicked, Kiss Me Kate, Hairspray, Saturday Night Fever and A Chorus Line.
Wednesday 29 May
Singing for Wellbeing – 10.30-12.30, Rob Gildon
Rob Gildon will deliver a workshop in singing for relieving stress and improving confidence. Rob delivers many singing for wellbeing programmes that use singing and breathing as a tool for calm and peace. You will warm up your voices and learn a couple of songs together during the session.
Street Dance – 13.15-14.45, Icy Ice 54
This is a fun filled session to get you moving to music that will make you smile. Music will feature artists from 70s – 00s with movement that combines hip-hop grooves, contemporary flow and jazz technique.
Thursday 30 May
Creative Dance – 10.30-12.30, Damn Fine Dance – Luke Birch and Molly Wright
The workshop will combine improvisation and creative tasks to make short choreographed vignettes. There will be opportunities for the class to share and reflect.
Musical Theatre Singing – 13.15-14.45, Alex Davies
Lead by Musical Theatre choir leader Alex Davies, step into the world of the west-end and Broadway as you learn songs from well-known shows. This session will introduce you to a musical-theatre style of singing, while giving you the opportunity to sing along to your favourite musical numbers.
