Biography
Cellist Oliver Mansfield currently combines a career performing recitals, orchestral concerts, chamber concerts, broadcasting on TV with an ever growing teaching practice.
He was awarded a full scholarship to study at Birmingham Conservatoire, and graduated with the Principal's Prize. Oliver continued his studies with renowned cello teacher Sue Lowe gaining an LTCL Recital Diploma with Distinction, as well as becoming a Fellow of Trinity College London.
He has regularly attended the International Cello Gathering courses and has had masterclasses with Alexander Baillie, Adrian Brendel, Pierre Doumenge, Louise Hopkins, Tim Lowe, Matthew Lowe, Raphael Wallfisch, Schubert Ensemble, Carducci, Coull, Dante, Maggini and Sorrel quartets.
In 2011 Oliver joined the String Time programme at Junior Trinity as a cello, musicianship and chamber music tutor. Oliver has founded the annual St. Dunstan's College Cello Day & is Director of Cello Club, London Cello Society.
