What does the day involve?
You will join other like-minded young performers from schools across London in an inspiring, intensive and hands-on day, taking part in singing and movement workshops, and rehearsing a song together backed by a live orchestra of Trinity Laban musicians, led by top West End music director Verity Quade. This will all lead towards you taking part in a concert, where you will also get to experience some of Trinity Laban’s finest current musical theatre students sing a wide range of music, including songs from the likes of Wicked, Bugsy Malone and many others. You will also take part in a Q&A session with students and staff, to help find out more about life as a conservatoire student and career paths into musical theatre.
Who is the day aimed at?
The day is aimed at Year 9 – 12 students with an interest in the performing arts, and in particular musical theatre and singing. Once places are confirmed, groups will be an allocated a song which they will learn and perform on the day, for which learning resources will be sent out in advance. Some prior rehearsal will enable students to get the most out of the day.
All groups must be accompanied by school staff. You may book as small a group as you wish, and up to around 20 students maximum. It may be possible to book 2 groups of up to 20 students each, depending on demand for places.
