A pianist and clarinettist from an early age, Claire went on to study music at Oxford University, then Librarianship at UCL. She came to Trinity Laban in 2003 from the British Library, where she worked as a music cataloguer. Other professional duties have included being Secretary to the Music Libraries Trust, Treasurer of IAML (UK & Irl) , Secretary to the Libraries in Music Teaching Institutions division of IAML and Chair of both the IAML Copyright Committee and the IAML (UK & Irl) Trade & Copyright Committee. She has additionally served on the Libraries and Archives Copyright Alliance and the Universities UK Copyright Negotiating and Advisory Committee.

Anthony McDonald

Anthony studied music at City University, London, where he played classical piano. Along with his music degree he holds an LRSM piano performance diploma from ABRSM and received his librarianship Masters from City University. Anthony began his music library career at Westminster Music Library before moving to the US to work for 6 years at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, where his primary responsibility was to run the circulating orchestra collection. While at NYPL he received training in working with special collections, cataloguing, acquisitions, and other areas of librarianship. He joined Trinity Laban in September 2022.

Harriet Hansell

Harriet studied music at Merton College, Oxford, where she was a choral scholar in the chapel choir. However, she started out as an instrumentalist, beginning the violin and piano at a young age and later taking up the viola. Her interest in early music and medieval drama led her to pursue an MA in Medieval Studies at York. She previously worked at the Society of Antiquaries of London, where she particularly appreciated the medieval manuscripts! She currently sings in all-female voice choir, Cantilena, based in Surrey/Sussex, and also enjoys musical theatre and opera.

Lucy Rose

Lucy studied music at Durham University and librarianship at Aberystwyth University. After working as a cataloguer for the Royal National Institute of the Blind, she worked for Hertfordshire Libraries as their Performing Arts Librarian before joining Trinity Laban in 2019. She plays the horn. Lucy is currently Secretary of the Music Libraries Trust.

Walter Cardew studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Goldsmiths College. He started working at Trinity Laban in 2000 having previously worked at Hammersmith and West London College, University of North London and Whipps Cross Hospital.

Richard Douglas

A music graduate from the University of Oxford, Richard has experience working as a tenor lay clerk and soloist with ensembles such as the Oxford Bach Soloists, and has toured as far as Dallas and Austin with the choir of Magdalen College, Oxford. He also works as a tutor in study skills and academic writing. Richard’s musical interests include all manners of vocal music, particularly Bach and Verdi, as well as jazz and musical theatre.

Miguel Picciochi

Miguel studied jazz guitar in Lisbon and composition at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he also worked as a student library assistant. Before joining the Jerwood Library he worked as a volunteer cataloguer at the Rambert Archive and as a classical music researcher for Quantone Music.
