A pianist and clarinettist from an early age, Claire went on to study music at Oxford University, then Librarianship at UCL. She came to Trinity Laban in 2003 from the British Library, where she worked as a music cataloguer. Other professional duties have included being Secretary to the Music Libraries Trust and Treasurer of the UK & Ireland branch of the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres. She currently holds the positions of Chair of the IAML Copyright Committee and IAML (UK & Irl) Trade & Copyright Committee, as well as representing IAML (UK & Irl) on the Libraries and Archives Copyright Alliance.

Edith studied music at Southampton University where she played cello and bass guitar, followed by librarianship at City University (London). She is currently Secretary of the Music Libraries Trust. She joined Trinity Laban in 2007, having previously worked for the Royal College of Music and the London Library. Her favourite musicians include Anna Meredith, Hannah Peel and Thomas Truax.

Lucy studied music at Durham University and librarianship at Aberystwyth University. After working as a cataloguer for the Royal National Institute of the Blind, she worked for Hertfordshire Libraries as their Performing Arts Librarian before joining Trinity Laban in 2019.  She plays the horn.

Walter Cardew studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Goldsmiths College. He started working at Trinity Laban in 2000 having previously worked at Hammersmith and West London College, University of North London and Whipps Cross Hospital.

David Butler

David studied cello, gaining a BMus (Hons) and a PGDip. David particularly enjoyed playing chamber music and was a member of the Bergonzi String quartet for six years which took him as far afield as India to perform. He has also enjoyed music courses and performances both in the UK and abroad with the Vacation Chamber Orchestra. David has previously worked at the Music Publishers Association and the Royal Academy of Music.

Harriet Hansell

Harriet studied music at Merton College, Oxford, where she was a choral scholar in the chapel choir. However, she started out as an instrumentalist, beginning the violin and piano at a young age and later taking up the viola. Her interest in early music and medieval drama led her to pursue an MA in Medieval Studies at York. She previously worked at the Society of Antiquaries of London, where she particularly appreciated the medieval manuscripts! She currently sings in all-female voice choir, Cantilena, based in Surrey/Sussex, and also enjoys musical theatre and opera.
