Application Process

For most programmes, initial applications are made online through UCAS Conservatoires.

IMPORTANT:

  • You MUST register with UCAS Conservatoires to apply for Trinity Laban Programmes
  • You may register with the main UCAS portal as well if applying to other institutions which are not conservatoires
  • Read the programme-specific information below IN FULL before commencing your application

Initial Applications through UCAS Conservatoires

To begin the application process you must first apply through UCAS Conservatoires. This application should include full details of your previous education, qualifications and experience.

Please note: the application deadlines shown on the UCAS website do not necessarily apply. Please refer to the deadlines in the programme information, below, for your chosen programme.

 

References

Two references are required (one practical/professional and one academic). Your referees should be familiar with your work and be able to comment on your suitability for the programme of your choice and your ability to work at the appropriate academic level.

 

The Personal Statement

Your Personal Statement should address:

  • your background and relevant experience;
  • your reasons for applying to Trinity Laban; and
  • a rationale for your choice of programme (for each programme if you are applying for more than one) including:
    – the relevance of the programme to your current practice and future professional aspirations; and
    – why you are interested in the programme at this point in your educational / personal / career / professional development.

Situated in the UK’s musical theatre capital, with excellent links to the West End and beyond, we will equip you with all the skills you need to become a creative, empowered performer for the 21st century.

Engaging with the Profession

During your time with us we prepare you to enter the profession confidently.

The diverse curriculum covers artistic leadership and business skills, as well as skills in public performance and audience engagement, preparing your CV, audition techniques, guidance on self-employment and tax, personal development, and accessing arts funding. Masterclasses, seminars, and visiting artists will provide you with the chance to work with and observe world-class professional performers. Recent visitors include choreographers Jo McShane and Steven Harris, lyricist Anthony Drewe and Andrew Simeon, Director of Legally Blonde The Musical UK.

You will also have the opportunity to perform in well-established London venues, working with key industry figures in professional contexts. Industry-led projects, workshops and an agent showcase, will provide you with a strong foundation for your future career.

Life after Trinity Laban

Our graduates perform in musical theatre productions in the West End, in international and UK touring productions, on film and TV, as well as within the wider entertainment industry. Graduates are performing in a number of West End productions, including Wicked, 42nd Street, Fiddler on the Roof, Thriller Live and Ghost UK Tour.
